Kstar unveils 1,100 V string inverters
Industry Trends News, 2020.9.21
The Chinese manufacturer has designed the new products for the commercial and industrial (C&I) solar segment. They are available in two versions, with AC output power ratings of 121 kW and 150 kW and efficiency ratings ranging from 98.7% to 99.0%.
Shenzhen Kstar Science and Technology has unveiled the KSG-150UM and KSG-120CL, a new series of 1,100 V string inverters for commercial and industrial applications.
The two models offer AC output power ratings of 121 kW and 150 kW, with efficiency ratings ranging from 98.7% to 99.0%. Their European efficiency ratings are 98.3% and 98.5%, respectively.
The inverters measure 1,055 × 700 × 336 mm. The 150 kW model weighs 110 kg, while the 121 kW model weighs 96 kg. Each inverter features 12 maximum power point tracking (MPPT) channels and 24 string inputs. The MPPT voltage range is 200–1,000 V, and the MPPT efficiency is rated at 99.9%. The inverters operate at ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to 60°C.
According to Kstar, the inverters feature active arc-fault protection, which can accurately detect arc faults and shut down the inverters within 2.5 seconds. The new products also include a built-in PID recovery module and an anti-PID module to prevent potential-induced degradation (PID).
"To guarantee higher reliability, the inverter is equipped with a high-precision RCD protection circuit, which helps to ensure personal safety," Kstar said.
The inverters use an advanced monitoring and O&M platform to simplify maintenance. "Moreover, IP66 protection and a C5 corrosion protection design ensure that the inverter can operate in almost all environmental conditions," the manufacturer said.
Kstar began selling the new products worldwide at the beginning of the month. The company has also recently launched a 1,500 V string inverter, an all-in-one residential battery inverter solution, and a new inverter series for rooftop PV systems.
