Kstar has been ranked as the No.4 modular UPS supplier in Asia

KSTAR News, 2021.7.28

Chinese UPS manufacturer KSTAR has been ranked the fourth-largest modular UPS supplier in Asia by market share for 2020, according to market intelligence firm Omdia's recent Modular UPS Hardware Market Tracker 2020 report.

KSTAR ranked among the leading modular UPS manufacturers

Compared with traditional UPS systems, modular UPS systems offer several clear advantages, including reduced mean time to repair (MTTR), built-in system redundancy, a smaller physical footprint and scalability. According to the report, industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS) buyers and operators of on-premises data centres are increasingly adopting modular UPS systems. This trend is expected to accelerate modular UPS market growth in the post-COVID-19 era, starting in 2021.

"We have seen strong growth in demand for modular UPS systems as customers recognise the benefits of scalability, cost efficiency and simplified operation and maintenance (O&M). This year, we have gained market share despite challenging conditions across the market. KSTAR's groundbreaking technology places us at the forefront of the modular UPS industry," said Mr Li, Head of International Sales (Asia).

To date, KSTAR modular UPS systems have been widely used across industries worldwide, including telecommunications, banking and government. KSTAR's strong R&D team, combined with 27 years of industry experience, gives the company a unique competitive advantage in the market.

"Rising energy costs, increasingly stringent environmental regulations and higher power densities are major challenges facing the data centre industry. KSTAR modular UPS systems are designed to address these issues. With a footprint of just 0.5 m², they save valuable floor space. Their efficiency of 96.5% helps improve energy utilisation and reduce energy costs. They can also lower labour costs by reducing maintenance time to just five minutes. These advantages make them well suited to the needs of data centres in the digital era," said Rayo, a pre-sales engineer at KSTAR UPS.

Although COVID-19 caused modular UPS revenue to decline by 6% in 2020, the market subsequently entered a strong growth period. According to the report, the global modular UPS hardware market reached USD 993 million in 2020 and was forecast to grow to USD 1.35 billion by 2024.
