KSTAR completes supply of 500MW inverters for SPIC project

Industry Trends News, 2020.9.25

KSTAR has completed the delivery of all central inverters for SPIC's 500 MW PV project in Heilongjiang, China. As the first unsubsidised power plant in China operated by the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), the project was supplied with a turnkey solution by KSTAR and began generating electricity at the end of 2019.

The project covers approximately 1,334 hectares of saline-alkali land in Anda City, where temperatures vary significantly between day and night. Night-time temperatures can sometimes drop below -40°C. Operating under such harsh conditions requires high performance from every component, including the inverters. Given the project's specific climatic conditions, KSTAR's DC1500V turnkey solution was selected. The solution has already been successfully deployed in numerous large-scale PV power projects worldwide.

KSTAR supplied 200 units of its 2.5 MW central inverters and more than 4,800 units of 1500V combiner boxes. The KSTAR 1500V PV system solution has no wearing parts and is designed to be maintenance-free, enhancing overall safety and reliability.
